Wiek-TZRThe romantic fishermen‘s village Wiek has a well-protected harbour – the reason for it already having been popular among sailors in the middle ages. Large freighters still unloaded their cargo here until 1936. When the dam over the Strelasund was opened, grain, beet and coal were transported by road. The harbour at the Wiek Bodden developed into a favourite destination for pleasure craft and leisure time captains. In the generously developed marina with its good service, you find a chalk loading dock bridge. The landmark of the harbour was never used and is a valuable technical monument today. As state-certified health resort the dreamy scattered village Wiek offers many a possibility for an active and relaxing holiday. A great harbour festival is held every year in summer. In 2010 Wiek northern habour had been reopened. This was the starting signal for the development of a future harbour village. Reservation on www.hafendorf-wiek.de or phone +49 38391 934793
