Hammer Havn
55°16.643'N 14°45.293'E

In this former port of disembarkation for granite from the “Hammer Works” quarry situated amid Bornholm’s loveliest scenery and right at the foot of the Hammershus Castle ruin, visiting yachts are welcome in the outer basin and at vacant berths in the inner harbour.![]()
Hammer Harbour has no village activities or modern service facilities on offer, but is a beautifully situated harbour in scenic surroundings. The harbour is an ideal point of departure for hikes through the Slotslyngen or Hammerknuden nature areas. Regardless of whether you wish to immerse yourself in nature, the abandoned quarries, or the riveting history of the largest castle ruins in Northern Europe, this site is unique in many ways. The harbour’s guided boat tours explain more about the area’s interesting landscape and culminate by sailing into one of the deep caves of the bird cliff. A few hundred metres from the harbour is Hammersøen lake, with a barbecue pavilion and outlook jetty. Or go for a ride on Denmark’s longest aerial ropeway at Opalsøen lake. The harbour has a lounge with grill, and a sandy beach is located in the harbour. The closest village is Sandvig (2 km).![]()
