The “Marina Świnoujście” is located in the former north harbour of the Soviet fleet. After the Baltic Red Banner Fleet pulled out, a modern yacht harbour emerged with 200 berths and comfortable equipment. The harbour is tree-covered and it is but a few steps from the town centre with its numerous shopping facilities. The Spa Park from 19th century is located in the vicinity of the marina. The park was formed by Peter Josef Lenné and has some lovely old trees. The sailors coming from other countries of the Schengen Agreement have been able to move freely in the waters since 2008 – without having to call at other ports to get customs clearance.

From the yacht harbour you can go on trips into the Szczecin lagoon or visit numerous sights of Świnoujście on foot. An almost completely preserved sea fortress is just as inviting on such an occasion as are extensive sandy beaches and the highest lighthouse along the Baltic coast.There is a shanty festival, among others, during the “Days of maritime culture” in August. Świnoujście is located in the heart of Europe and is working on its image as the “Summer Capital” of Poland.

Approach to Swinoujscie

A typical sight is the windmill fire (Oc.10s) on the short western pier. The long, slightly curved western pier is equipped with an orange fixed light (Oc.R.4s) at the pier head. You must expect currents in the mouth of the Swine, which may even put you off course when the wind blows from the west. The 65 m high lighthouse (Oc.WR.5s) is not only a landmark, it also helps keeping orientation at night. When approaching the place from the Szczecin Lagoon you will pass a canal approx. 7 km long and will then arrive in the ferry port of Świnoujście.
